I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Bernice Hassan & Associates. I was charged $3,000 for what was described as a “tax investigation.” After becoming suspicious of the high cost, I sought a second opinion from a reputable CPA who completed the same investigation thoroughly for $500. That’s a $2,500 overcharge for the exact same service. I was also advised by someone at the firm to put my house in a trust to "evade the IRS" — a suggestion that was immediately flagged as incorrect and irresponsible by a licensed trust attorney. This kind of advice could potentially lead to serious legal trouble, and it made me question the firm’s professionalism and ethics. To make matters worse, they quoted me an additional $20,000 to resolve my tax issue. I’ve since consulted with multiple tax professionals who quoted no more than $5,000 for the full scope of work. The overcharging and misleading guidance clearly show that this firm is not operating in the best interest of their clients. I reached out to express my concerns and request a refund of the $3,000 I was overcharged — and was flatly refused. That lack of accountability is unacceptable. I do not recommend Bernice Hassan & Associates to anyone seeking honest, ethical, and reasonably priced tax services. Please get a second opinion before handing over your money — I wish I had.

I can not recommend this firm enough. Bernice and Nyla were amazing as well as competent. They are compassionate, easy to talk to and kind. They comforted me when I cried and calmed me down when I was losing it and in despair, all with dignity and respect. I had a long drawn out case, and they struck by me every step of the way. They fought for me several times and got my debt reduced to a payment of only $50. The relief I feel is unexplainable. I truly wish I could’ve paid my taxes. They were very understanding and never made me feel bad. A divorce, bankruptcy and an accident that put me in the hospital for six months rendered me disabled preventing me from doing so. They fought for me in my situation, meeting more than once with the IRS. If you need help and you want a accompany that we treat you like family, this is it. Kelly Watkins

Bernice and her team (especially Nyla) stepped in when I needed it the most. As any business owner can attest, at some point you're going to have issues with the IRS and I have had my fair share. Having Bernice take over communication with the IRS and negotiate with them on my behalf brought such a relief and they did such an excellent job. I couldn't recommend them more!

I can't say enough how pleased I am with the level of service and attention I received from the talented Bernice Hassan & Associates team. I was in a very precarious situation with both the Fed and State due to some disputed returns and outstanding tax debt. The team patiently worked with me over several months to get me current and was able to negotiate the best possible payment terms possible, and a favorable resolution. They are "Rockland Stars"!
